Conductor Installation Services Ltd receives gold award for occupational health and safety

10/06/2011

Conductor Installation Services Ltd (CIS), an Acteon company, announced an historic health, safety and environmental (HSE) milestone for the company: six years without a single accident or incident resulting in a lost-time incident (LTI). As a result, CIS received the prestigious Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety 2011 for the second consecutive year from the UK’s Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

CIS, a member of Acteon’s conductors, risers and flowlines division, provides conductor installation services associated with construction projects carried out in the global oil and gas industry. These services are provided both on- and offshore to, for example, create foundations for new wells, platforms, bridges and jetties.

The RoSPA awards criteria include not only accident records, but also the entrant’s overall health and safety management systems and recognise important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement. For CIS, this means its personnel exhibit solid teamwork, a high level of safety awareness and implementation of rigorous HSE standards.

In recognition of this outstanding achievement, Andy Penman, group managing director of CIS, was presented the award by Eric Clark, RoSPA trustee at the RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards ceremony in Birmingham earlier this month.
