Relevant candidates will be degree qualified or equivalent and will have a certificate of competency as Master Mariner or Chief Officer 
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Master Mariner / Chief Officer or Chief Engineer with sea time on offshore vessels including Barges. Some experience of dealing with Class and Flag societies would be desirable. Previous shore based experience in a similar role would be desirable too. 
Experience in the management and undertaking of safety and emergency procedures, evacuation and station bills for crew and contractors on the barge. Familiar with anchor handling and the co-ordination of Tugs in the laying and recovery of anchor spreads. A working knowledge of Vessel ballast systems and ballast trim calculations, and excellent oral and written communication skills would be a prerequisite.
