Project Manager and Business Developer

Our Client provides comprehensive onshore and offshore oilfield decommissioning services. From end-of-field-life determination to final lease clearance, they can assist with every aspect of facility abandonment be it onshore facilities, platforms, pipelines or single wells. The Company uses an integrated team approach to prepare detailed plans and procedures for well plugging and abandonment.

ABOUT THE JOB         
The Company has a requirement for an experienced project manager and business developer, specialising in wells / drilling engineering, with a proven track record of running drilling projects, and securing new business in order to bolster its Aberdeen and UK offering. This position is reporting to the UK General Manager and the successful candidate will have the capacity to carry out engineering work to support the teams located elsewhere, as well as project management duties as the business develops and coordinate a team.

 

Principal Accountabilities:                      
You will be working from an Aberdeen location, with support from the team in Norwich. From this location you will support the Companies business development efforts by developing leads, generating and participating in sales meetings, assistance with tender preparation in order to expand the Companies current position and grow its market share.
  • Assist with securing of new project contracts around the world for company core business functions.
  • At sales meetings present company philosophies, competencies and business functions to new clients utilising marketing materials.
  • Network with International Oil Companies leveraging existing contacts and developing new contacts.
  • Liaise with other Group entities around the world to leverage established country resources, knowledge and contacts.
  • Act as a resource in carrying out engineering workscopes to assist the Norwich team as required.
  • Assist with developing schedule of services and costs for new projects including labour rate build-ups based on market labour forces considering taxes, burdens and margins.  
Qualifications and Experience:               
  • Minimum of 15 years offshore oil and gas industry experience. Onshore oil and gas and petrochemical experience shall also be considered.
  • Must possess a suitable engineering related degree.
  • In depth understanding of large-scale project execution for drilling and well construction activities
  • International experience in one or more of the following markets is preferred with the ability to target new business opportunities in new countries:   West Africa, Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
  • Preference for engineering degree (ideally drilling / well, petroleum, mechanical and offshore or civil engineering)
