Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Technician

TEAM Energy are working with an oil and Gas Operator in Dubai to find an experienced GIS Technician.

Role description

Perform maintenance / overhaul and repair of Gas Insulated Switchgear in a timely and safe manner while ensuring maximum availability, reliability, and safety in their operation.

Diagnose faults, propose, and implement remedial repairs on company’s Gas
Insulated Switchgear and systems in a logical and effective manner.

Responsibilities

Perform various tasks in operations, and maintenance of Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) electric gas insulated distribution facilities including circuit breakers, power transformers, control systems, structures, on all DPE operated onshore assets’ substations.
Responds, at any given time, to all trouble relating to Substations, and more generally to any electrical issue as directed by the electrical supervisor, to provide optimal availability, reliability and cost optimisation whilst ensuring that the highest safety and environmental standards are maintained.

Experience

10 years maintenance experience in oil/gas industry.
Experience in safe low, medium, and high-voltage electrical isolation procedures including 400 v, 3.3 kV, 33 kV and 132 kV systems.
Must have 5 years’ experience maintaining Gas insulated Switchgear.
Must be competent in hazardous area classification and electrical equipment requirement. Should have completed either IECEX or COMPEX training and have a valid certification.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Experience in computerised maintenance management systems

Qualifications

Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or another appropriate field
