Workshops Superintendent

We are supporting an international operator in the Oil & Gas sector with the appointment of a senior Workshops Superintendent to oversee multi-disciplinary workshop operations supporting onshore and offshore production assets.

Role description

  • This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the full repair, refurbishment and return cycle of critical rotating equipment and mechanical components, while ensuring high reliability, safety and efficiency across workshop activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop multi-discipline workshop teams (mechanical, fabrication and equipment overhaul functions).
  • Oversee inspection, strip-down, assessment and repair activities (in-house and via third parties).
  • Drive quality assurance / quality control across repair and overhaul workflows.
  • Plan, prioritise and schedule work based on asset criticality and operational demand.
  • Implement best practice in maintenance, safety, compliance and reliability.
  • Manage workshop materials, tooling, spares and equipment lifecycle.

Experience

  • 15–20 years Oil & Gas experience, including 10+ years in workshop leadership roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment repair/overhaul and heavy workshop operations.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with production / maintenance leadership and OEMs / vendors.
  • Excellent communication skills and a hands-on leadership style.

Qualifications

  • Technical Engineering Degree (or recognised equivalent) with apprenticeship background.
